11th hour experience...

sheesh, buti pa ang free fall my battle of the bands... honestly, naiinggit talaga ko... kasi naman... i really wanna sing and perform.. alam ko namang i'm not the best of vocalists pero i really enjoy singing... and i feel bad kasi wala kaming naging gigs or kung ano man ngayong summer... before sa school.. natutuwa ako kapag nabibigyan kami ng opportunity na magperform...

naaalala ko pa lahat ng natugtog ng 11th hour.. the first time na nagperform kami is nung family day nung junior year...:) actually, kamuntik p nga kaming hindi masama sa list of bands... we weren't very good sa auditions kasi.. i mean, chrissy sang very well, and paulo and i backed her up okay i guess.. all the other guys played their respective instruments nicely too... the only problem was... we chose TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL by joy enriquez... were we kidding ourselves that we would get in by choosing that song? sheeesh... fortunately, they got additional bands to play for family day..:) so ayun, we performed two songs, PERFECT by simple plan and SMOOTH by santana feat rob thomas... at that moment, i just felt something that i've never felt before... i was so alive that night at the stage..:D hehehe..:) though my friends said perfect was okay, but smooth was much better.. hahaha aray ko po.. ako pa naman ang main vocals sa perfect, si pauey sa smooth... hahaha pero ayos lang, i admit that he's better than me.:)

next up was the Christmas party..:) we spent long hours of practice at pauey's place before that event.. we performed PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC (cant remember the artist), TOO CLOSE (freestyle's version), and TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL (again.. hahaha but this time our batchmates liked it so it wasnt that bad..:) we had people dancing sa gitna nung circle, it was a good feeling..:) it truly was, promise..:) siguro isa na yun sa pinakaokay na performances namin..:) hehehe..:D

naku... when was our next performance.. think think think... i guess it was during the elections during senior year..:) meeting de avance pa nun, and i was runnig for asst PRO pa..:) chrissy sang WAITING IN VAIN (mymp version i suppose) as always, she sang well.:) then paulo and i were the vocals on THAT THING YOU DO by the wonders... it was a mediocre performance, definitely.. i didnt know if i sounded out of tune even.. hindi ko kasi masyado marinig... tapos may nakalimutan pa kong linya.. add up paulo's piyok moment and yun na ang resulta.. (which was not his fault kasi mahirap talaga yung song..) kakatawa nga e, tuwing nababanggit yung the wonders all of us smirk... hahaha.:D

ano na ba yung next? ah, yung auditions for senior year fam day..:) this time we got included..:) whew..:D we did JEEPNEY by sponge cola..:) ganado ako magperform nun kasi i like the song..:) hehehe..:D

then family day came... hay nako grabe... okay naman yung SAILING by urbandub, okay yung pagkagawa ni paulo sa vocals (back up lang kasi ko dun..) hindi nga lang masyado kilala yung kanta kaya wala masyadong audience impact... pero before that, i messed up... i sang most of DALIRI by kjwan... and naku po, nakalimutan ko yung lyrics, nagkamalimali pa ko sa timing... i really felt bad after that... ewan ko ba... honestly, we had one day practice of that song talaga.. kaya rush... and wala pa kong kopya nung kanta kaya siguro nagkaganun... pero it was still my fault.. i should have practiced more, kahit na abala ako nun kasi i was making rounds sa buong skul dahil ako yung OD... oh well... i almost quit the band because of depression...

tapos, yung Christmas party na ulit.. grabe, we didn't jam at all before that day.. kasi nagkaroon ng internal conflicts.. hahaha... kaya kahit ano na lang.. we performed 2 songs.. A FAVOR HOUSE ATLANTIC by coheed and cambria and the darkness' I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE... we were supposed to perform jeepney uli, kaso dalawang songs lang daw.. ayun.. nadali na naman kami sa pagpili ng kanta.. a favor house atlantic is a great song for me, pero hindi natripan nung mga tao e.. well what can we do diba... buti nga nabuhay sila ng konti dun sa the darkness, i really strained my vocal chords just to sing the whole song.. mahirap tlaga siya.. they told me okay daw yung performance.. but i wasnt that sure.. when you're singing kasi, hindi mo alam kung ano yung labas at tunog.. kaya mahirap.

then the battle of the bands... badtrip nga e.. hindi ako nakasama nun... dahil sa ACP tactical inspection at marami pang emosyonal na bagay nun... hmm ano kaya yun??:D wahaha... nevertheless, i was very proud of them..:D ang galing ng 11th hour nun.. they got second pa nga e..:) they performed LUNES by sponge cola and NAHUHULOG by sandwich...

tapos eto.. this was our last performance ever.. nung teacher's day... and again.. haay.. wrong choice of song... i urged the guys that we should play ELESI by rivermaya because it was easier to relate it to teachers than youll be safe here... ay nako.. it turns out the 2nd year band performed it and they got all cheers... naalala ko pa nga sabi ni drei nun... "tsong sabi na nga ba dapat yan e.. benta.." he wasn't blaming me. but i blamed myself... when we performed elesi, we got cheers pero not as much.. hahaha... hindi kasi alam yun ng mga bata pa sa elementarya... nakakainis ka kasi jurmane e. hindi mo ba naisip yun??? haay nako...

and that's it.. we were supposed to have a gig before grad, pero we had problems.. kaya hindi natuloy. i was hoping for another one during the long break.. but nothing happened.. i did all that i could do to have another jamming session pero wala... i guess everybody's been pretty busy... kasi sa monday mikel,paulo and drei will be starting class na... so ayun. i think that's the end of us already.. sad..

But i never regret joining the band..:) kahit iba iba kami ng ugali at kagustuhan., we pulled it off even for a while..:D saka my bandmates aren't just bandmates.. they're my friends too..:) paulo,mikel,mikes,jomie,drei... and of course, chrissy and djay (whom i still consider as part of 11th hour).. THANK YOU GUYS..:D God bless sa college..:P alam ko namang malabo na mabasa nyo to, pero i wanted to put it na rin..:D hehehe..:D

TRIVIA: did you know that eleventh hour is the title of one of the songs of jars of clay??:D hehehe..:) wala lang..:D
